BARBER

EXPERIENCE / BIO:

John Monroe

Fifth-Generation Barber | Men’s Cut Specialist

John Monroe brings over 16 years of expertise in men’s grooming to his chair at Dom’s Barber Shop, where tradition is more than a backdrop—it’s a calling. As a fifth-generation barber and the son of Dominic Monroe, John inherited more than a pair of shears; he inherited a living legacy of craftsmanship, connection, and community that dates back to 1912.

Though his journey began in the corporate world, John was ultimately drawn back to the barbershop, a place where the rhythm of the clippers is matched only by the cadence of conversation. Trained at Akron Barber’s College, he now carries forward the art of precision cuts and timeless service from the same chairs once occupied by his father and grandfather-in-law.

John specializes in men's cuts, blending classic styles with modern techniques to deliver consistently sharp results tailored to each client. But his work extends beyond the haircut. With every appointment, he honors the tradition of the barbershop as a communal space—where stories are shared, laughter echoes, and memories are made.

Today, John leads Dom’s Barber Shop with quiet pride, preserving the warm, familiar atmosphere that has defined the shop for generations. The walls lined with historic photos and timeworn tools aren’t just decorations—they’re reminders of a craft rooted in care and community.

As Dominic once said, "You’re not just a barber; you’re an electrician, a carpenter, a janitor, a nurse or whatever, because you hear all these stories each day." John Monroe continues that legacy—not just cutting hair, but carrying stories, one trim at a time.
